The mechanism of misunderstanding

In this Babel we are living I think the most essential loss is the inability of mutual understanding. We cannot even understand ourselves half of the time, how can we expext to understand another human being... Where did the link break? Or was there ever such a link? This sounds all too pseudophilosophical but I think its largely responsible for the intense agony of the modern man...

Supposedly, the new film Babel of Inarritu (what a gloomy cinematographer) exposes this lack of understanding not obviously only among people with different languages but especially among family members - lovers - friends where the chasm is growing against all odds. Is it because our ability to love is inherently rigged by our egos?

To "Is there a way to beat the arrogance of ignorance?" I can only respond with: "Asking the question is the first step".

Unfortunately both arrogance and ignorance are an inherent human trait :) (in varying degrees)
